The End of the World in 2012

Scientists from America raise the alarm and it is all because of Mother Earth. Something strange is happening to magnetic field of our planet. Poles suddenly started changing their locations. And this may lead to a global catastrophe.

In order to examine how the changes in magnetic field strength of the Earth take place and what influence it has on radio waves in uppers layers of the atmosphere, they placed on orbit five probes exploring our atmosphere and magnetic field.

Probes registered great changes in the behaviour of northern and southern lights. Organized and slowly changing colours have transformed into giant flashing with a whole palette of colours.

Is it possible for the Earth to change its poles?

As it turns out, such an effect occurs on the Earth every few thousand years. It can be checked by examining hardened lava. According to the theory, pole reversal is going to happen in 2012 and it is going to be connected with sudden magnetic field disturbance. Scientists state that pole reversal is possible and the Earth has already experienced this.

However, we do not know what may happen if the poles change places with each other. According to the worst-case scenario that it will take the poles a few days to change places, it may end with a cataclysm.

A huge tsunami flooding whole continents and growing coconut palm trees in the Alps? Such a course of events may take place. Sun's activity has been studied for nearly 300 years and increase in Sun's activity has been already observed; however, it has never been so different from the norm, which is another matter of concern. According to the research, the movement of poles has been gaining momentum for 150 years.

December 21st 2012 - the last day, month and year in the Maya peoples' calendar. According to them, December 21st 2012 is the date of the end of the world or the end of the present civilization and the beginning of a new one.

This fact has become the basis for doom-laden prophecies.

Those who consider that in 2012 there will be the end of our civilization, noted that their theory can be confirmed by other monuments, e.g. in the Zodiac of Denderah, and drew surprising conclusions. According to their reports, ancient priests announced that every 11 500 years a specific planet and star arrangement repeats (Venus, Mars, Orion etc.).

It is said to cause serious perturbations within, at least, the Solar System, e.g. destruction of some planets, Earth's magnetic pole reversal, great intensification of Sun's activity (particularly of its magnetism) and even reversal in the rotation direction of the Earth.

The last time it happened in 9792 B.C. and now it is going to take place on December 21st 2012.

According to the supporters of New Age movement, at this time the Age of Aquarius is going to come. Everything is supposed to change for better. From 2012 people will: absorb food through skin, perceive various things differently (for instance time), recover quickly from diseases and meet extraterrestrial creatures. Are we condemned to destruction?

However, some scientists reassure that although pole reversal is possible, it will not happen in a few days. It is impossible from the point of view of physics. According to scientists, the Earth needs not a few but hundreds or even thousands of years to change.

How will it happen? Magnetic field of the Earth will start to weaken and then disappear in order to revive, only the other way round.

Nobody knows what influence this phenomenon will have on human kind. We can only observe.
